What is Power Reliability?
From the Philippine Distribution Code, Reliability is probability that a system or component will perform satisfactorily, under specified conditions during a given period. It is the ability of a power system to continuously provide service to the customers. Reliability refers to the continuity of electric delivery as described by the number and duration of power outages. It means that the lights come on when they flip a switch. On the other hand, it may also refer to whether there are power interruptions for a tiny fraction of a second, whether the electric current maintains a frequency of 60 cycles per second so the electric clocks keep accurate time.
